Wonderful guitar solo and the drums were excellent as well. Nugent is quite an accomplished soloist, though his voice is not quite made for singing. I like him in the band, Damn Yankees too.

I usually think of rock musicians as liberals for some reason so it surprised me that Nugent is quite the conservative.

I heard this song a couple nights ago while at a Valentine’s day party I attended that PROVIDES, a volunteering organization I used to be a part of, put on.  The girl who sang it had a great voice for this song and I like the dark tinge on the lyrics.

While I’m putting this song up via TinySong which while in its own rights is a great application, I’m really disappointed and just ARGHHHHHHH that the Grooveshark widget embedding that I just recently got to work on Chrome and was really looking forward to using by littering this blog with all these single song widgets now totally does not work.  I am really sad about that and it’s breaking my heart – quite a bit since I’m reduced to a bland, plain TinySong link!!!! I will go crazy if this isn’t fixed soon or even worse, Clearspring is really gone from Grooveshark.

Itsuka no Merry Christmas by B’z

I just found this great rock duo B’z from reading Gackt’s Jihaku. And I can’t believe Slash teamed up with the vocalist from B’z, Koshi Inaba! I’m so excited when musicians come together to collaborate to purely make music. It’s cool that music is truly universal in this way. What better way to communicate across languages and cultures than music.

 

Gackt’s JnT 2003 Concert Surprise Party

This was the perfect ending to a wonderful wonderful concert by one of my newest favorite artists, Gackt Camui.  His emotions are so real and he gives his concerts everything that he’s got. I greatly admire how he writes and performs his own music – I will always respect artists who do that. But something that is really unique about Gackt is the way he shapes his thoughts and channels raw emotions into his songs and music. His performance is almost as important as his songs by themselves. I have a lot of good things to say about him – just too tired to think right now. But anyhow, the surprise party his band, GacktJob, gave him was kind of moving.. gee, I guess I’m moved by a lot of little stuff heh. I can’t help but feel really happy for him and his ‘family’ to have that kind of support and such a strong bond together. Rock on.

Just found this group who’s from New York on NPR music unveiling their new album: Eyelid Movies.  A coffee-house like feel with a nice blend of acoustic guitar, electronics, and keyboards.
